Capital House Chiller Replacement

Capital House Chiller Replacement

Summary of Project:

The Capital House is located on the corner of Chapel Street and Edgware Road and supplies accommodation that is predominately used for private offices and meeting rooms. A replacement of the roof mounted chillers for this landmark building was required, as well as the associated power supply, BMS controls and pipe work alterations with the use of cranes to the 17th floor also needed to gain appropriate access. The works involved the removal of existing obsolete chillers that were replaced by units manufactured by Trane UK Ltd. The existing chill water pumps and pipework circuits were then retained as well as the existing motor control panel in the adjacent plant room. Circuit alterations were then made to the controls cabling to suit the new chillers and a new trace heating system to chilled water pipework was installed with associated power supply. Finally, the existing power supplies to the chillers were retained, adapted and tested as required.
